Leitrim County Council is now inviting Expressions of Interest from Town/Village Community and Business interests for inclusion in The Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2019.
What Is The Focus Of The Scheme For 2019?
For 2019, the main focus of the Town and Village Renewal Scheme will be on public-realm type activities and the enhancement of town centre amenities. Measures to encourage town centre living will also be welcome.
The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is a key initiative under the Action Plan for Rural Development and is part of a range of measures to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland under the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 Rural Regeneration Programme. Project Ireland 2040 is the Government’s long-term overarching strategy to make Ireland a better country for all of its people. The plan changes how investment is made in public infrastructure in Ireland, moving away from the approach of the past, which saw public investment spread too thinly and investment decisions that didn’t align with a well-thought-out and defined strategy. How Will Projects Be Selected For The Scheme?
Selection of projects under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme for 2019 will be by means of a competitive process.
As only a limited number of applications can be submitted to the Department in accordance with the terms of the scheme. Projects will be assessed based on the quality of information supplied at the Expression of Interest Stage.
Successful Expressions of Interest applicants will be contacted in regard to the completion of the final Application to be submitted to the Department for consideration in the competitive process nationally.

4.00 p.m. on Friday the 31st of May 2019
