Grants of €800,000 are now available to social enterprise projects across the country,
Rural Affairs Minister Michael Ring is providing the funding for training and mentoring for social enterprises.
It comes from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
The money can be applied for by people involved in providing social enterprises, including local councils, local development companies and higher education institutions, and is aimed at improving social services standards.
Application open on Monday next, September 9th.
Grants fund the delivery of tailored training to new and existing social enterprises.
It is expected that up to 300 social service projects will benefit over the coming year,
Funding is aimed at improving social organisations in the areas such as business planning, mentoring, leadership, governance and financial planning and digital innovation.
Grant applications will be assessed by the Government’s community development support organisation Pobal.
Mr Ring said it would be seeking expressions of interest soon and the money would be allocated before the end of this year.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 3pm on Monday, 30th September 2019.
