SEAI One Good Idea Competition for Schools 2018

posted in: News | 0

Inspire lifestyle changes to save energy and help tackle climate change. The annual SEAI school competition One Good Idea is open to primary and post primary schools.

Inspire People To Make A Difference

We all use energy every day at home, in school, and when we travel. Could we use less energy and still meet our needs? Every year the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland asks primary and post primary students to come up with One Good Idea that will:

  • Save energy
  • Help tackle climate change
  • Inspire lifestyle changes in the people around them

Tell the SEAI about your One Good Idea to help save energy and tackle climate change. Then design and launch a creative awareness campaign about it in your community. Your campaign should show people in your community how your One Good Idea can inspire them to make a difference to them, their pocket and our planet.

Every year the teacher and pupils on the winning teams receive a prize. All teachers who enter a team into the competition are in with a chance to win a prize too.

How Can Teachers Enter Teams?

Firstly teachers must enter their team (or teams) on line. You can register teams HERE

Then teams have to propse their campaign by the deadline date of 16th November 2018.

Each campaign should be made of up a team of 2-6 students

Primary schools: teams must be from 3rd to 6th class

Post primary schools: teams must be either junior classes (1st-3rd year) or senior classes (4th-6th year)

All teams choose and research a topic that has been set for both primary and post primary students. You can get a list of topics that have been set and fact sheets HERE
