Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2018

The Department of Rural and Community Development has announced funding for outdoor recreation amenities.
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development. It provides funding that supports outdoor recreational infrastructure. There are three measures under which funding may be applied for. Applications are now invited for Measure 1.

Measure 1: Small Scale Maintenance/Promotional and Marketing

Under this measure, projects may receive grant aid up to € 20,000. The measure supports countryside recreation, including:
  • the upkeep and maintenance of established trails/walkways/cycleways/blueways;
  • improved access to leisure or recreational facilities, and
  • the promotion and marketing of such infrastructure.

The 2018 Scheme will be implemented up to October 2019 to allow for the effective implementation of larger strategic projects, in particular, with smaller to medium sized projects to be completed in 2018. Applications to the value of €12 million will be approved this year.

 

Applications under Measure 1 (open to local communities) should be submitted to Leitrim Development Company

by Wednesday 27th June 2018 by 5:00 pm.
