Think Before You Buy Campaign:
Think Before You Buy brings home the message that recreational drug use plays a key part in funding the operations of drug dealers in our communities. This is is directly linked to criminality and drug related intimidation.
Short information videos were made to raise awareness that engaging in casual drug use contributes to the fear and intimidation inflicted on people in our communities. The videos are available to view on www.nwdrugtaskforce.ie and below.
Our hope is that it will improve communication between communities, the local authorites and An Garda Síochána in relation to drugs. The videos ask recreational drug dealers to think about how the small amount of drugs they buy at weekends feeds into a much bigger national problem. Posters and videos will be circulated widely in the coming months with a view to launch it officially in September.
