For over three years now many local people have been working hard at driving forward the social, economic and environmental development of Manorhamilton and its wider catchment area. That group, along with Leitrim County Council, secured REDZ (Rural Economic Development Zone) status for our area which provided the impetus for all that work.
They started by planning and consulting with people, then moved into delivery and now have several good stories to tell.
Back in 2016 their work fed into the first ‘Manor Summit’. Three years later they are running with ‘The Manor Summit 2’, as follows:
When And Where?
Thursday 16 May 2019
6pm to 9.30pm
The Bee Park, Manorhamilton
What Will Be Discussed?
You will hear about positive developments that have happened over the last number of years both community and private business development.
An overview of successful projects like “Manorhamilton Castle” and “W8” will be shared at the Summit. In addition this event will help to plan for a vision of Manorhamilton and its wider catchment area into the future through facilitated discussion with attendees, it will also explore how all of our activities connect us together to create a better future for Manorhamilton.
What’s happened in and around Manorhamilton over the past three years has been largely locally-driven. But there’s still much to do and it’s up to us to keep the momentum going. Crucially, it’s our futures and the futures of our town, our businesses, our children and our communities that are at stake here.
