A major study on the mental health and wellbeing of young people in the Leitrim, Sligo and West Cavan region has just been published.
It was undertaken by a team of researchers at St. Angela’s College, Clogherevagh, Sligo, at the request of the Youth Mental Health Initiative (YMHI) through the Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB.
The main goal was to get the views of a wide range of individuals so that young people can enjoy good mental health and wellbeing.
In total, 1,050 voices were heard during the study.
A number of people shared their views on the subject.
They were young people aged between 12-15.
Parents, teachers, lecturers and counsellors and youth workers also took part.
