What’s New?

Leitrim PPN is delighted to welcome Michael Moran to the team. Michael will support the work of Leitrim PPN and you can expect him to be in touch over the coming weeks. Sports fans among you may know Michael as the former Sports Editor of the Sligo Champion. In recent years Michael has been embedded in the community work of Sligo and he is looking forward to meeting everyone in Leitrim.

Well Done Students

Well done to all the students who sat their Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate exams over the past couple of weeks. And, good luck as you all await those eagerly anticipated results . There are many options open to you and check them out for further for further training Post Leaving Certificate courses and other relevant information that may be of some benefit to you at this time.

Summer Fun
Summer has arrived and many of you will be putting the final touches to festivals and events. We see the stylish silage bales are starting to appear in Drumshanbo. Please don’t forget to let us know about them and we’ll share with everyone else. Bredagh Old School are having their Annual Barbecue tonight and the Stoney Woods Festival takes place in Kiltyclogher next weekend and that’s just what we know about. See Events for more detail.

Community Insurance:

We’ve heard plenty about the cost of insurance for events or just the normal operations of your community group. This has been a theme across the country so all the PPNs have got together and issued a survey on your experience of insurance for community groups. It only takes about 4 minutes to complete and the findings will be used to feed into national discussions on the issue. Please take the time to have your say. See Consultations.

PPN Re-registration and Voting

When your group registered, two contacts were sought. When an official vote is required for elections or a significant decision, one of these designated contacts can vote. As Leitrim PPN finishes its fifth year some committees have finished their terms and there are other natural vacancies. Nominations for vacant posts will be sought and elections will be held in Autumn 2019. In preparation for that and as a general tidy-up of contacts we will be getting in touch asking you to Re-register. Contact will be made by email and/or letter and we will follow up with phone calls.  We will start getting in touch from 8th July.
