Summer in Leitrim

The schools are closing and towns and villages across Leitrim are gearing up for their Summer Festivals. Many of you will ease off on group meetings for the Summer and gather again in September. We’ll still be here through July and August and we’d love to hear about your summer events, especially if you’d like us to be represented at your events.

Support Your Community Event

Never let it be said that there’s nothing to do. This weekend alone brings the Cruinnúí na nOg festival of creativity for children and young people.- all free- and The Leitrim Cycling Festival which runs across the weekend and caters for those of us who don’t or can’t cycle. Don’t be afraid! See the events section below for more details.

Consider Your Environment

Leitrim’s own Good Energies Alliance Ireland co hosted the Powerful Communities Conference last week and this Sat. 23rd June brings the first regional gathering for a National Dialogue on Climate Action. As we see reports of illegal dumping, fish kills and severe weather, this matter becomes more important by the day.

Reports and Consultations

We recently asked you to consider submitting your views to Leitrim Volunteering Information Service and The Loneliness Task Force. To find out what you and others said check out the reports below. Local consultations are in progress for the Healthy Leitrim Programme and on how Leitrim might remember its dead from World War 1.
