The Leitrim Guardian aims to represent all areas and parishes throughout county Leitrim. Your help is needed to make sure your area is represented. The call for material for the Leitrim Guardian 2019 issue, the 51st edition, is still open. The closing date for submissions to the Leitrim Guardian 2019 is October the 15th 2018.
In general, The Leitrim Guardian favours feature articles of current interest to their readership, most frequently with a Leitrim or North West related connection. This connection can be through the author having a Leitrim connection or through the content of the piece. They welcome factual features which are historical, literary, deal with current affairs of topical interest, maybe tell the story of a famous Leitrim person who may have been forgotten in Leitrim. Short stories and poetry are also welcome, Longer articles or stories should not exceed 2000 words. Shorter pieces are preferable. Non-fiction items of 500 to 750 words, accompanied if possible by a reproducible illustration, are especially welcome. in particular informative articles with a strong Leitrim background and general appeal. They especially welcome short snippets of information of no more than 250 to 300 words. Back issues of the Leitrim Guardian are available for reference in Leitrim County Library should you wish to explore material that already been covered.
All submissions should be sent by email as attachments in MICROSOFT WORD format to blaithingallagher@eircom.net. The title Leitrim Guardian 2019 submission MUST be included in the subject of the email to prevent it being lost in a myriad of other mail. Please ensure that your contact details including name and address and phone number are included on the email.
