The Town & Village Renewal Scheme supports rural towns and villages to be more attractive and sustainable. This year’s scheme encourages actions that aid economic and social recovery of towns and villages.

There are 3 elements: two rounds of Accelerated Measure for short term (6 months) Covid-19 specific activities; the Standard Measure provides for larger scale projects, again supporting towns and villages post-Covid-19.

The CLÁR programme provides support under three measures: Measure 1:   Schools/Community Safety Measures (Expanded for 2020); Measure 2:  Community Recreation Areas (New in 2020). Applications for Measures 1 and 2 are made directly to Leitrim County Council.

Measure 3 funds: (a) Meals on Wheels and linked services (new in 2020) and (b)Mobility and Cancer Care Transport. M3 applications should be submitted directly to the department.

The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme is aimed at enhancing and developing outdoor amenities, trails, Blueways, Greenways, etc. in rural areas:  Measure 1: Small Scale Repair/Promotion and Marketing, Measure 2: Medium Scale Repair/Upgrade and New Trail/Amenity Development, Measure 3: Large Scale Repair/Upgrade and New Strategic Trail/Amenity Development.

Details of closing dates for applications for all schemes are available on Leitrim County Council website.
