Free Health Screening at the recent Ballinamore Show 2018.
Hosted by South Leitrim Primary Care Team and Community Health Forum
One hundred and eighteen people availed of free health checks at the Ballinamore Agricultural Show in Co Leitrim, which was held on Tuesday 14th August. The South Leitrim Primary Care Team and Community Health Forum hosted a stand at which people were able to have check ups of their blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index, provided by public health nurse service, Community Dietician and two specialist diabetes nurses.

There was lots of information available about how to stay well by eating a healthy diet and being more physically active. People also had an opportunity to meet other members of the primary care team and the local community health forum, whose support on the day was very much appreciated. The community health forum was set up to be a link between the team and the local community and the current representatives of the community health forum on the primary care team are Aideen Reynolds, Sean Reynolds and Michael McGovern.
A free draw was held for a healthy food hamper, sponsored by Donohoe’s Supervalu in Ballinamore.
Thanks to everyone who helped with organising and supporting the event and to all the members of the public who availed of the checks.
