Sligo Volunteer Centre and Sligo PPN are pleased to be working locally in partnership along with the Carmichael Centre and Volunteer Ireland to deliver a FREE series of short webinars for community, voluntary and charitable organisations.
What Is a Webinar?
A webinar is a live web-based video conference that uses the internet to connect the individual hosting the webinar to an audience–the viewers and listeners of the webinar from all over the world. Essentially a webinar is a seminar conducted over the internet.
These webinars are being piloted nationally in an effort to ensure that community organisations in rural settings are given the opportunity to avail of the renowned experience of the Carmichael Centre in promoting best practise in governance for the community sector.
Volunteer Ireland, the network of Volunteer Centres, and Sligo PPN, recognise that working for the community is hard work, and the growing number of requirements on community groups to conform to certain governance practice is increasingly forcing volunteers out of the sector. The content of these webinars reflects the direct feedback from groups in Sligo in terms of identifying the critical training supports that will enable them to continue the good work that they do for people of Sligo.
Note: You don’t need any level of technical expertise to be part of a webinar.
In a move which highlights the growing partnership between our third level institute and the Sligo community sector, all webinars will take place in the Innovation Centre, IT Sligo.
