Do you know that for thousands of years on Bealtaine, a fire was lit on Uisneach to celebrate the coming of summer?

The Hill of Uisneach is one of the five royal sites, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the fifth province or kingdom in ancient Ireland. It was the home of the sovereignty goddess, Ériu, after whom Ireland is named. The fifth province could also be referred to as the world of the imagination and the magical “otherworld”.

Join Leitrim Intercultural Forum for the Bealtaine Fire Celebration on Saturday 5th May.
