Leitrim County Council invites applications from local communities for the Community Involvement Scheme for the Repair and/or Upgrade of Local Roads in the County.
What Is The Scheme?
The Community Involvement Scheme for the Repair/Upgrade of Local Roads is a joint venture between the public and Leitrim County Council, whereby a Community can make a Monetary Contribution towards the cost of Road Works and Leitrim County Council will complete the Road Works on the Road.
What Level of Monetary Contribution Will Be Required?
The Monetary Contribution required will range between 15% – 30% of the cost of the repair/upgrade of the Road. (A Minimum Monetary Contribution of 15% applies in all cases subject to a Maximum Monetary Contribution of 30%). Leitrim County Council will estimate the overall cost of the scheme taking account of material, labour, machinery, traffic management costs, etc. Leitrim County Council will determine the percentage Monetary Contribution required in each case and this will be calculated as a percentage of the Total Cost of the Scheme.
If your Application is successful and your Road is included in this Scheme, payment of the full Local Contribution will be required in advance of any works commencing.
Each Local Community applying for Community Involvement Scheme will be required to appoint a Spokesperson to act on their behalf, and fill out the application form that can be obtained from you local County Engineers office, or the Leitrim County Council website.
