Remembering Leitrim’s War Dead is one project of many under the current action plan for Peace and Reconciliation in Leitrim. It seeks to explore ways to remember and commemorate the men and women of Leitrim affected by the First World War. The project looks at the needs and aspirations of individuals and community groups across Leitrim. It aims to develop a consensus of ideas around a World War 1 remembrance project. Facilitated consultations will take the form of public workshops, focus group meetings and one to one meetings.

What Happens Next?
Findings from consultations, with recommendations for a programme of community based work around a World War 1 remembrance project in Leitrim, will be issued in August. It is envisaged that the programme will include a series of activities and projects remembering the men and women who were affected by the First World War and recommendations for small capital project(s).
