CLÁR Funding 2020
The Department of Rural and Community Development have announced CLÁR 2020 Funding. These support measures have been tailored to help rural communities to respond to the new COVID-19 environment.
Measure 1: Support for Schools/Community Safety Measures (Expanded for 2020)
Measure 2: Community Recreation Areas (New in 2020)
Applications should be submitted to Leitrim County Council by 4pm onWednesday 22nd July 2020.
Measure 3: Community Wellbeing Supports, comprising:
(a) Meals on Wheels and linked services (new in 2020)
(b )Mobility and Cancer Care Transport
Applications for Measures 3(a) and 3(b) should be submitted directly to the Department of Rural and Community Development by Wednesday, July 22nd at 4pm
Leitrim County Council is inviting applications/Expressions of Interest for funding available under the following measures:-

For What? | Projects that make school/community facility environs healthier and safer for the children (at schools) and for all users of community facilities.
New: Also, projects to adapt areas around school and community facilities to meet new public health requirements arising from COVID-19.

In response to COVID-19, enhancement of existing and/or the development of new accessible Community Recreation Areas where people can socialise outdoors in safe community spaces. | |
Consider the examples below for Schools and/or Community facilities except where indicated | |||
Examples but not limited to: | Flashing Amber Safety Lights. | Max €7,000 per set | A variety of capital interventions that contribute to the enhancement of existing, and/or the development of new, accessible Community Recreation areas where people can socialise outdoors in safe community spaces. The graphic below provides an indication of the types of interventions that may be supported, but is not exhaustive:
· Bandstand, amphitheatre, blackboard · Outdoor Cinema screen · Outdoor Electricity connetion · Public toilets & bins, Car and bike parking · Outdoor drinking water fountain · Associated landscape and path widening · Covered seating & picnic benches · Covered barbecue areas · Exercise class space · Handball alley renovation.

How Much? | Minimum application of € 5000 and maximum amounts as above depending on project.
Match funding of 10% must be provided, 5% of which must come from the applicant group. Bridge funding may be required. |
