Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2019 Open For Applications

Leitrim County Council wishes to invite applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2019 as operated by the Department of Culture, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht. The purpose of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) is to assist with the repair and conservation of structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and in certain cases, for the conservation of structures within Architectural Conservation Areas. The focus and priority of this scheme will be on job creation. The scheme seeks to leverage private capital for investment in a significant number of labour intensive, small scale conservation projects and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons in the repair of the historic built environment.

This grants scheme will be administered by Leitrim County Council. The minimum level of funding awarded will be €2,500 up to a maximum of €15,000 with applicants required to provide a minimum of 50% of total project cost. Applicants should read the guidelines and be familiar with the qualifying criteria and conditions of the scheme. All applicants must complete Application Form A of Circular BHIS 19/1(see the downloads available below) and return to:

IMPORTANT NOTE : Applicants who apply under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) cannot also apply under the Historic Structures Fund (HSF) referred to below.
